Grading grats

Congratulations to all students who graded last week!

2017 has been a great year of training with a new cohort of students coming through.

Everyone has made fantastic progress by simply turning up regularly and doing their best to make small improvements to their performance at every repetition.

It’s been a lot of fun and that’s of course a really important ingredient for success.

First up on Monday the teens strutted their stuff. Grats to Kylie and Haruka who graded 8-kyū, Jess and Niamh (5-kyū) and Tom (4-kyū).

On Thursday the adult grading featured the return of Bob Withers, who presented thoughts on controlling uke through the strategy of creating an expectation of collision that never actually happens.

Then the adult students got to showcase their skillz. Grats to new 7-kyūs Cass, Jon, Wathan and Aung Kyaw Soe; double-graders Ray and Ray (6- and 5-kyū) and Blake (5-kyū).
