Weapons are an integral part of aikido and several other martial arts. This half-day, practical workshop will cover their use, care, and maintenance, and you can finish your own jō from raw material to keep.

Cost: $65 for weapons workshop, including advice and hands-on maintenance of your own weapon +$35 to finish your own Tasmanian oak jō to keep.

10:00-10:20 Introduction to training weapons, bokken/bokutō, jō, tantō and more (Andy)
10:20-10:50 Care and maintenance of wooden weapons (Greg)
10:50-lunch Hands-on weapons maintenance (advice, sandpaper, oil, etc. supplied). BYO weapon(s) to sand and oil, or hone your skills working on a dōjō weapon
